Will Freeman is a fellow for Latin America studies at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and a leading writer on Latin American politics, democracy and organized crime, and U.S.-Latin American relations.

His writing has appeared in The New York Times, Foreign Affairs, The Financial Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Economist, The Washington Post, and The Journal of Democracy. He is also a columnist for Americas Quarterly and a frequent guest on national broadcast news and radio programs.

He has lived and worked in Colombia, Guatemala, and Peru as a Fulbright scholar, and holds a PhD in Politics from Princeton University (2023) and a BA in political science from Tufts University (2016).
